Don't worry about your assessments

You might have heard that AAT have stopped all assessments to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We want you know that there's no need to put off studying if you're looking to get qualified.

Even if your assessments are delayed, we're committed to supporting you. That's why if you enrol now we'll give you 3 months of extra tuition time for free.*

That means you'll still be able to use the campus and speak to your tutor - so you'll be ready for your exams even if you have to take them a bit later than usual.

What will I need?

This course builds on the skills you develop in Level 3, so we recommend you get that (or a similar qualification) first.

You could also be ready if you have a lot of experience in an accounting role. You can speak to us if you’re not sure which level is best for you.

You’ll also need:

  • An AAT Approved test centre near you so you can sit your exams
  • A third-party payee if you’re under 18 years old

  • Basic computer skills and access to a phone/tablet/laptop with internet

What career options does Level 4 open up?

Level 4 has a focus on teaching management accounting skills – so you’ll be eligible for roles that let you put those skills to use. The optional units will also let you move into more specialist areas of accounting, depending on what you pick.

You’ll also be eligible for AAT Full Membership. This lets you put “MAAT” after your name and will give your CV even more evidence of how passionate and determined you are.

Here are a couple of example roles:

Accounts Manager

Average salary – £37,500*

Commercial Analyst

Average salary – £37,500*

If you want to take your accounting career even further, AAT Level 4 will also give you exemptions from the early papers of some of the qualifications that let you become a Chartered Accountant.

Who are the AAT?

The AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is the UK’s leading professional body for accountants.

Employers trust people with AAT qualifications. You won’t just be learning abstract theories – you’ll be developing key skills that you can start using immediately, even before you finish the course.

You can be confident your AAT course is going to have a real impact on your career: a recent survey by Xero revealed that more Accounting and Bookkeeping practices found AAT qualifications important when hiring than any other qualification.

How will I be assessed?

Each unit has an exam you’ll need to do at an assessment centre. When you’ve passed all of those, you’ll do your synoptic assessment, which will test you on everything you’ve learned on your course.

Don’t stress about this – our courses are designed with the synoptic in mind, so you won’t need to take it until you’re ready. We’ll even give you free support for a resit if you don’t pass first time – that’s our Pass Guarantee.*
