Accounts Apprentice

The role:

The Accounts Apprentice will support the day-to-day financial recording of the business and the broader responsibilities of the Accounts department. The candidate should be looking for a career in accounting and have the motivation to learn and progress within the team.

Main tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Keeping accurate financial records by ensuring records are fully maintained and updated with the highest attention to detail
  • Working in conjunction with colleagues to ensure projects are reconciled accurately, and sales invoices raised accordingly
  • Chasing internal paperwork and processing supplier invoices, making payments when necessary
  • Managing Creditor and Debtor accounts
  • Dealing with financial paperwork and filing
  • Issuing and balancing petty cash
  • Assist with monthly reporting requirements
  • Take on more responsibility as the team requires
  • Provide support with management accounting responsibilities

 Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role, advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of using Sage Line 50, advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in using excel, advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good level of mathematics, comfortable with calculations and percentages
