IT Technician

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical support and advice to staff
  • Perform routine ICT tasks
  • Manage small projects
  • Facilitate the smooth running of the network by undertaking reasonable tasks as required, including some administrative tasks
  • To be responsible for the whole administration procedures for School Meals, Ordering or Admissions
  • Maintain manual or computerised records and management information systems – SIMS
  • Produce lists/information/data as required e.g. pupils’ data.
  • Undertake typing and word-processing and other IT based tasks
  • Provide general clerical/admin. Support e.g. emailing, photocopying, filing, respond to routine correspondence
  • Maintain and collate pupil reports
  • Use the school’s computerized systems such as Inventry, Parentpay etc
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
  • Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
  • Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required
Who you are
  • Effective Use of IT packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher etc)
  • Knowledge of schools Management Information Systems such as SIMS or Walton Samuels etc
  • Ability and confidence to learn tailored school systems to support the running of the school
  • Ability to carry out basic arithmetic calculations on a daily basis
  • To be articulate, able to communicate effectively and accurately in oral and written form
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to analyse, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Work constructively as part of a team and contribute to the whole school team, understanding school roles/responsibilities and your own position within these
  • To be friendly and supportive to children, parents, staff and visitors to the school
  • To work collegiately with other administrative staff in both offices
  • To be flexible and committed to attend after school/evening meetings as required
The details:

Salary: £15,000 / annually

Hours: 35hrs, Monday to Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM
