Production Apprentice

Provide logistical and administrative support to producers on a variety of film and animation projects for global brands. Responsible for assisting in creating and developing content in response to a client brief.

Key Responsibilities


  • Take notes during briefing meetings, assessing each project with a focus on strategy, creative, budget and capacity
  • Assistant in preparing briefing documents for clients and suppliers
  • Onboard new suppliers ensuring all finance paperwork is completed correctly
  • Book third party production resources
  • Assist with all filming logistics booking travel, flights, hotels, taxis
  • Create call sheets
  • Distribute, update and file on the server production paperwork; call sheets, risk assessments, movement orders, production and post-production schedules


  • Act as a production runner on-set assisting producers
  • Assist in operating cameras, lighting and audio recording
  • Ensure all release forms are signed by talent and other contributors
  • Live logging of footage as required (i.e. taking note of the best interview takes)
  • Log interview rushes post-shoot
  • Transcribe interviews
  • Assist with in-house and new business projects and shoots


  • Be proactive and always seek to find and share examples of great creative campaigns from which we can draw upon when relevant to agency projects
  • Offer creative solutions to account team briefs
  • Assisting in writing creative proposals
  • Assisting in writing and editing scripts

Post Production

  • Ensure the master file for each film is filed and clearly labelled
  • Assist producers with setting up a video library database to archive video content
  • Book post-production facilities i.e. editing, voice-over studios, grading suites
  • Book internal editing and After Effects resource through the studio manager

Online and Content Research

  • Conduct extensive online research, trawling the digital space for first-class examples of cutting edge content from organisations/brands/products
  • Research trends in multimedia platforms and the blurring of the TV and digital space
  • Keep across emerging TV and video trends, monitoring competitor work


  • Communicate clearly and articulately, describing creative and technical aspects in detail
  • Present ideas with knowledge and passion
  • Be approachable, amiable and professional when communicating with colleagues, clients and suppliers

Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with account teams, offering strategic counsel to both account teams and clients
  • Work alongside our other business areas such as Creative and Digital to bring help bring a client vision to life
  • Be a source of inspiration within the agency for creative video content

Building Supplier Relationships/Industry Networking

  • Alongside the team, meet with new suppliers to increase skills and ensure that the agency can deliver the best results for our clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
  • Attend industry briefings and conferences when required
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactively contribute ideas with a can-do attitude
  • Keen interest in production techniques and trends
Technical Skills
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding of production language/terminology
Desirable but not essential
  • Editing on Premier (basic logging and rough cutting interviews)
  • After Effects (basic knowledge)
  • DSL camera and sound recording skills an advantage
