About us

At Tate and Lyle, we are dedicated to making more than extraordinary ingredients. We are a purpose driven company dedicated to improving lives for generations through supporting healthy living, building thriving communities, and caring for our planet.

Whether addressing customer requirements around sweetness, texture or Health and Wellness, our Food & Beverage Solutions teams provide innovative ingredients to Bakery, Beverages, Confectionary, Convenience and Dairy Food Manufacturers around the world.

About the role

The Marketing Communications Officer for Europe is a new role in our Food and Beverage Solutions Team, reporting to the Head of Category Development & Planning (Europe). You’ll have 2 main areas of focus: managing marketing communications and support for our principle distribution partners and supporting regional marketing activities across categories with research and analysis, event production and campaign design and management.

More specifically:

  • You’ll be supporting European Distribution partners with their Trade marketing activities, including collecting, compiling and adapting category and product collateral, supporting with events.
  • As new products are launched, you’ll make sure that our partners have the marketing tools they need to communicate effectively to our customers, also getting involved with ad-hoc market sizing and data analysis to help develop and execute plans
  • Across the region, you’ll support cross-category events through overall coordination and content production for major trade shows (e.g., Food Ingredients Europe), and marketing campaigns with target identification, design and delivery of supporting materials.
  • You’ll take a lead on cross-category market analysis for Europe, accessing both internal systems data and external 3rd party databases to monitor and track regional consumer, customer and regulatory trends.
  • As a main point of contact for Europe’s Category Development & Planning team, you’ll coordinate with Global Marketing teams on global campaigns and market research as required.

Location

This role is based out of our Central London office, but please note that we are fully remote working until later this year (TBC). Similar flexibility is expected going forward but you should anticipate a requirement for occasional travel into the office for meetings thereafter.

What you’ll need to have

  • It is likely you will be a graduate in a business-related degree ideally
  • Experience in an office-based role, gaining insight to how a commercial business operates is essential – probably gained post-graduation, or from a placement year during your studies – and ideally within a marketing, strategy/consulting or communications team role
  • An awareness of the differences between B2B and B2C marketing and interest in focusing on meeting the needs of our Customers (as opposed to the end consumer)
  • A passion for food/ingredients/nutrition demonstrated through knowledge of the food industry would be preferable to make an impact as soon as possible
  • Strong analytical skills shown through research and data analysis in previous work or studies
  • An organized and self-driven approach to your ways of working, able to prioritize accordingly as you’ll be working remotely from your manager for some time
  • Effective communication skills – both verbal and written – and an ability to build relationships and credibility easily
  • To support our European colleagues, a fluency in English language is essential but additional European languages would be a plus
  • Enthusiastic and a positive approach, excited to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
