The Role

The Depop social media team is truly cross-functional and crucial to all marketing activations, from global cultural moments and hero campaigns to local tactics and conversion drivers. Reporting to the Senior Social Media Manager, the Social Media Executive is responsible for implementing the overarching channel strategy while tailoring it for individual platforms and providing an ongoing stream of data and insights to the wider marketing organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Own publishing across platforms as directed by the Senior Social Media Manager by campaign, market or BAU content franchise – planning, drafting, scheduling, publishing, monitoring and reporting
  • Plan at high level all content publishing at least 2 weeks in advance. Proactively share plans with Senior Social Media Manager for direction and/or approval
  • Represent the social team in meetings with markets and stakeholders as directed by the Senior Social Media Manager. Provide consultancy for content publishing across platforms that meets or exceeds benchmarks
  • Monitor in-app (Looker) as well as cultural/pop trends (social listening, platform monitoring) daily and suggest reactive content to the Senior Social Media Manager and/or Editorial Lead
  • Generate ideas for BAU creative production and liaise with Editorial and/or Senior Social Media Manager to allocate resources as necessary
  • Draft and develop reports for the social media team as well as stakeholders and/or campaign leads. Provide benchmarks and references with clear learnings for future planning
  • Update planning documents daily including editorial calendars, campaign calendars and social CMS schedules. Tag content for reporting and monitoring
  • Navigate the Depop app for relevant inventory to highlight in social platforms, in line with the channel strategy and maintain a list of sellers/shops that reflect the Depop ethos for propagation and/or partnership
  • Find and commission relevant talent for social content, manage relationships and facilitate legal obligations

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of consumer social media platforms particularly Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter and Facebook
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, managing calendars and campaign documents
  • Keen interest in emerging platforms and technologies
  • Strong knowledge of social media metrics and content performance
  • Strong copywriting skills, and an ability to adapt brand tone of voice to reflect community expectations
  • Basic knowledge of paid media and biddable optimisation
