The role

By joining the team, you will gain experience and develop skills in a wide range of areas, including data cleansing, data quality assurance, sales analysis and process management. You will also be exposed to a wide range of clients across various categories within the FMCG market.

When you join the SMG central team as an Insight Apprentice, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating, tracking and analysing campaigns through test and control analysis.
  • Evaluating campaign performance and uploading data to our in-house shopper insight portal Plan-Apps, which enables our clients to understand the performance and effectiveness of their campaigns.
  • Maintaining a tracker to facilitate the management of the client’s evaluation reviews.
  • Assuring that the data we work with is accurate to be shared with our clients and provides insightful results.

By the end of your 18 months, you will have:

  • Developed your technical skills through the daily use of Excel, R and python and be confident in cleansing and analysing data with good knowledge of creating complex formulas.
  • Built effective and collaborative relationships with internal teams as well as our clients providing solutions and insights to their campaign insights.
  • Acquired strong project management skills, by assisting the insight function in key strategic projects.
  • Developed your data skills and be comfortable in the day-to-day management of tracking trends across campaigns through test and control analysis, as well as interpreting large amounts of data.

The apprenticeship

  • Studying via Avado Learning a Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship
  • Duration of 18 months 80% on the job & 20% learning.
  • Enrolment starts in September 2021.
  • Other optional qualifications include; BCS Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts (optional) and BCS Level 4 Certificate in Data Analysis Tools (optional).

To be eligible you must have:

  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and
  • A-Levels in ICT/Computing/STEM, or;
  • An Apprenticeship in a similar subject (this must be at least the level below the planned programme), or;
  • A level 3 qualification in ICT or Maths, or;
  • A BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits), or;
  • Experience working within Data Analytics.

  • Good numeracy skills and ability to process and review information quickly and effectively.
  • Computer literacy with some experience using Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Clear organisation ability, with high attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn to use (and improve) new technologies.
  • Ambition, determination, and a curious approach to work.

Capture provide a one-stop agency solution removing the barriers to great shopper campaigns. Working across all touchpoints that can influence a shopper to buy (from point of sale to programmatic), which in today’s marketing landscape goes far beyond just ‘cardboard in-store’. Lobster combines our proprietary software platform Plan-Apps and data analytics with media planning and buying to help clients deliver and demonstrate increasing returns on shopper media investment. We work as consultants within shopper marketing teams and showcase this unique offering to FMCG businesses, sharing expertise across three core services areas, Technology, Trading and Training.
