What You’ll be doing

You will be part of the LCH Ltd Operations team on a 15 – 18 month Apprentice programme focused on developing your data skills and business acumen. You will be working towards your Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship qualification, with an additional optional Microsoft Office Specialist – Analysing and Visualising Data with Microsoft Excel qualification.  You will be assigned a project to provide technical and data solutions to a range of stakeholders, whilst also gaining hands on day-to-day operations experience.

During the programme, you can expect to gain exposure in the following business areas:

  • Work as part of a diverse team contributing to the team deliverables;
  • Gain an understanding of LCH Ltd products and services and how we serve our members;
  • Gain experience in the technical set-up of new members and perform trade lifecycle activities;
  • Become familiar with how LCH Ltd manages counterparty risk arising from client positions;
  • Learn the day-to-day processes undertaken to manage collateral and investment activity;
  • Develop communication skills and build your professional network;
  • Benefit from exposure to senior leaders, mentors, and different areas of the firm;

You will have the chance to learn through live interactive workshops led by data specialists and via highly tailored online learning and practice, in partnership with Avado.  All while you will be applying your new skills to real world business challenges using live company data, whilst being coached along the way by a dedicated Data Mentor.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who are highly motivated, passionate about learning and ready to take their analysis skills to the next level.  We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly.

This Apprenticeship programme is perfect for those who have recently finished school and want to jump start their career in financial services whilst gaining high quality training, experience and working towards a meaningful qualification. This is an opportunity to earn while you learn, with a generous starting salary plus bonus, and future increases based on experience and performance.  Following the successful completion, you will have the option to move into a full time permanent role with the firm.

In order to qualify for the programme and the apprenticeship qualification, you will need to have:

  • A strong interest in developing a career in data
  • Not hold a prior qualification at the same or higher level covering the same content as the apprenticeship.
  • You have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 consecutive years.
