We’re looking for any candidate who can answer “yes” to the above for our 2022 Data Analyst Apprenticeship Programme. We have several opportunities across Legal & General

What you’ll be doing

You will be joining us on an 18-month programme focused on developing your data skills and business acumen. You will be working towards your Data Analyst (level 4) qualification, which has been designed to embed cutting edge data skills into your day-to-day role.

As a Data Analyst apprentice, you will work as part of the wider team providing high quality data analytical support to colleagues across the organisation. This data focused role gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in and interact with people, data and insights at the heart of the largest Asset Manager in the United Kingdom.

You will learn through live interactive workshops lead by Data Experts and via highly tailored online learning and practice. All the while you will be applying your new skills to real world business challenges using live company data, whilst being coached along the way by a dedicated Data Coach.

The projects and assignments are focused both on an internal team and wider business basis, giving you plenty of opportunity to network and provide value to the wider organisation. During your 18-month apprenticeship, you will use the technical tools, techniques and learning from the Data Analyst Apprenticeship Standard to identify creative ways to use data to inform decision-making, operational efficiency, and productivity across the business function and where possible more broadly.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in mentoring and business fundamental courses to elevate your business knowledge, performance and connections.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for learners who are highly motivated, passionate about learning and ready to take their analytical skills to the next level. We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the aptitude and tools to develop quickly.

In order to qualify for the programme, you will need to have:

  • Achieved a C/Grade 4 in both Maths and English GCSE
  • Not currently pursuing another government funded scheme
  • You have the right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 consecutive years.
  • Have no prior qualifications (level 4 or above) in a related sector subject area, e.g., in Data Science, Data Analytics or Computer Science. Additional checks may be required to ensure the applicant is suitable for the programme and will attain considerable new knowledge and skills as a result of the apprenticeship programme
  • Aptitude and potential for the data and digital space
  • Relevant learning through self-study e.g., Code Academy, YouTube videos.
  • Have an awareness and interest in the use of data in both business and the wider world
  • Passion and commitment to solving problems and improving ways of working in business

In brief, our recruitment process will include: submitting an application for the role (consisting of uploading your CV, completing information to assess your eligibility, online testing (a Situational Judgement and General Ability test.) You will then be required to complete a series of aptitude tests via our apprenticeship provider. The final stage will be an interview.
