Data Technician

We are looking to recruit a hardworking, committed and passionate individual, who can demonstrate they have the abilities and skills required to undertake this role. The role will involve a range of administrative, analytic, data and compliance work, with a needed ability to quickly switch priorities with different deadlines or workloads. You will be expected to work well independently, but also as part of a team with a responsible and conscientious approach to working. We have a fast-paced environment and work together as a team to create the best possible outcomes for our clients and are looking for someone that can contribute well to this style of work.

Your role within the organisation will be to source and input data from trusted sources to identify if this meets company requirements and legislation. This will involve working cross-functionally with support from the business manager to identify changes, trends and patterns and align this with business strategy and legislation. The role will involve collating the data to present the data to managers and directors with support from others to ensure that all processes and work is compliant. This will be presented in the form of charts, tables, graphs and presentations in order for managers and directors to make effective analysis and business change.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Business Manager to ensure smooth operation of basic data compliance
  • Support the Business Manager by inputting into data found from trusted source documents and software.
  • Create graphs, charts, tables and analysis documents/presentations to managers and directors with support from other team members.
  • Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure your contribution to the company’s monthly reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collate and format data to facilitate processing and presentation for review and further advanced analysis by others
  • Blend data by combining data from various sources and formats to explore its relevance for the business needs
  • Analyse simple and complex structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes using basic statistical methods to analyse the data.
  • Validate results of analysis using various techniques, e.g. cross checking, to identify faults in data results and to ensure data quality
  • Communicate results verbally, through reports and technical documentation and tailoring the message for the audience
  • Store, manage and share data securely in a compliant manner
  • Collaborate with people both internally and externally at all levels with a view to creating value from data
  • Practice continuous self-learning to keep up to date with technological developments to enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development
  • Identify trends and changes in data and report back to managers
  • Identify new patterns in data and work collaboratively to share this with appropriate team members to make planned changes and strategic plans
  • Work towards KPIs and objectives set by managers
  • Work well with other team members to contribute to being an effective team member
  • To support the compliance team with any changes as needed
  • To support the clinical team to update as needed on legislation and compliance procedures
  • Answering and making telephone calls professionally, taking accurate messages and following up on tasks in a thorough and consistent manner (or referring on to team members when appropriate)
  • Supporting staff / volunteers to produce letters, presentations, exhibits and other documents when appropriate
  • General administrative tasks such as filling, emailing and contacting suppliers
  • Other activities identified at the appropriate level and according to business needs
  • To support the business development team with trends to increase sales and efficiency
