Aspiration Training is an independent training provider providing apprenticeships in care, education and business services. We also provider traineeships and distance learning courses.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and agile marketing team working across both business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets. The purpose of this role is to assist in managing the customer database, and CRM activity to improve marketing campaign activity. This includes email campaign activity & reporting and social media. As the CRM & Digital Marketing Apprentice you will be responsible for supporting development work on our CRM database, and providing digital marketing support to the marketing team and the wider business.

We plan to clean and scale our database, and are therefore looking for a dedicated CRM & Digital Marketing apprentice to join our team. This will be a data driven marketing role with a real focus on customer relationship management through improving the data quality of our current database.

You will optimise the CRM platform and ensure all marketing campaigns are run and reported on as smoothly as possible. You will manage customer databases, create marketing campaigns to customer segments, build automated trigger campaigns for emails and SMS channels, develop leads for our business development team, and support with the building of user journeys to provide a smoother customer retention strategy.

The successful candidate will enjoy all things digital and technology and have a keen eye for data. A systematic and diligent approach to work will be required, together with the ability to work as part of a team.

Key Duties


  • Work with the marketing team to build and trigger tactical email campaigns
  • Ensure own CPD and professional competency is maintained

Quality & Compliance:

  • Data cleanse project – updating and sorting the current CRM data
  • Ongoing management of the customer database, ensuring that it is cleansed
  • Gathering, segmenting and managing data
  • Maintaining our databases and CRM
  • Reviewing databases to update or remove outdated data
  • Data planning
  • Creating reports and educating the deal origination team on the target base and opportunities
  • Testing and using innovation to constantly improve marketing campaign performance
  • Keep up to date with and adhere to company, policies and procedures at all times
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding. Playing your part to protect colleagues and learners against all types of bullying, radicalisation or abuse
  • Take responsibility for the protection of data in line with policies and procedures

  • Assisting with planning, delivering and measuring targeted marketing campaigns
  • Assisting with integration and automation plans between systems such as CRM and Mailchimp, Maytas etc.
  • Defining and implementing segmented and promotional email/push communication plans
  • Plan personalised and targeted communications across email, push, paid social etc.
  • Implementing measures to reactivate lapsed and dormant customers
  • Contribute to data analysis and insight to drive market and team decisions
  • Contribute positively to growth of the business by controlling costs

Knowledge, skills & behaviours required for the role:

Knowledge & Desirable Experience:

  • An interest in CRM and database management
  • An interest in digital marketing
  • Strong MS Office skills (particularly Excel)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in database management would be advantageous
  • Level 2 English and Maths (grade C or above at GCSE)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML is an advantage
