HR Support

Reporting to the HR Advisor the HR Apprentice will play a pivotal role in supporting the team with all administration duties. You will assist with HR queries and help coordinate the HR inbox. You will also assist with the various procedures throughout the employee lifecycle, anything from the administration of new hires through to the exit
interview process, assisting with fundamental HR administration tasks. As a HR Apprentice you will gain valuable experience. This is a diverse and exciting position which provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills whilst working towards your professional HR Level 3 apprenticeship qualification.

• Coordinate long-term service recognition cards and awards
• Support the employee of the Quarter process by collating nominations and issuing the awards
• Promote the employee referral scheme and track and coordinate payments
• Support employee communication and engagement, through the co-ordination of the quarterly newsletter
• Assisting with general copying, filing, archiving of documents as required
• Assisting with ad-hoc projects as and when required

Key Responsibilities

• As our HR Apprentice, you will provide exceptional support to our small but experienced HR team and learn all there is to know about being part of a
successful HR function
• You will support and assist the HR Advisor with the recruitment process by preparing job adverts, liaising with managers, collating CVs and setting up interviews
• Deal efficiently and empathetically with employees via phone, email, or live chat, managing expectations and ensuring all enquiries are resolved to the employee’s satisfaction and in line with our polices and procedures
• Support with all new starter paperwork e.g. preemployment checks, and reference checking
• Perform accurate data entry into the HR systems, developing strong knowledge and including updating employee records and adding in new starters
• Know when to escalate any complex HR matters.

Skills, qualifications and experience

• GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or level 5 or above
• To be a confident communicator
• The ability to manage your own tasks to meet deadlines
• A good eye for accuracy and detail
• Excellent IT skills
• Lots of enthusiasm for developing a career in HR and a willingness to learn
• Have the highest standards of accountability and professionalism at all times and able to demonstrate empathy when required
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise is essential
