IT Infrastructure Technician

Main purpose of position

•    Provide first line support and log service desk calls from the end-users
•    Log all actions taken and resolutions
•    Provide administrative support to the Technology Department
•    Where necessary escalate the call, in a timely manner, to a Technical Support Analyst as appropriate
•    Take ownership of issues and be proactive when dealing with queries
•    Keep the end-user and other members of the team informed of progress as appropriate.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritising phone calls  to the department in a professional manner, screening callers and taking messages where appropriate
  • Prioritising incoming support tickets through the WJ internal ticketing system
  • Creating new users for the domain and key support systems
  • Setting of passwords for laptops/desk top computers
  • Laptop/PC build
  • Archiving
  • Project work as required

Personal/Job Skills

  • PC literate, with strong software and keyboard skills. Intermediate Outlook
  • General interest & thirst for knowledge in modern technology and computers
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines and manage the workload confidently and effectively.
  • Effective team member.
  • Self-starter, ability to work to deadlines.
