Purpose of the job

An Apprentice Solutions Analyst works directly within the team(s) to design, build, deploy, service and deliver our customers’ business needs. Solutions Analysts perform a range of activities that span traditional business and systems analysis, defining scope and requirements, isolating key issues, reviewing possible solutions and presenting recommendations. Solutions Analysts are active advisors to both our customers and our development team(s). As such, duties can also incorporate product management, quality assurance, system implementation, data analytics, and customer management.

Key Responsibilities

Supports and contributes to the implementation of product strategies

    • Contribute to the strategic technical approach to meet the needs of the products and their propositions
  • Support the commercial and technical teams, by turning commercial demand into technical delivery in a way that supports business strategies and the roadmap for the products


Ensuring successful delivery

    • Supports the delivery of new business and product enhancements, both internally and to support client demand for the products and their propositions
  • Collaborates with internal and external Customers across several functional areas, understanding key functional needs/requirements and translates these into creation of new product features and enhancements to existing product features, including capturing of requirements, user stories and design specifications
  • Conducts business process analysis, mapping business process specifications
  • Manages roll-out of new product features to Customers and communicate updates with management
  • Works with other analysts, development teams, quality assurance teams and production support teams to communicate, verify, and test the desired functionality changes
  • Collaborates closely to help the development team(s) in the design and implementation of new features


Team working

    • Work closely with the commercial and technical team(s) to ensure all requirement gathering and analysis tasks are accurately planned for and completed within the overall agreed timeframes
  • Provide regular and accurate reports of progress and any changes to the Product Owner
  • Contribute to regular team meetings, stand-ups or client meetings to ensure the correct tasks are being worked on and share key decisions required, risks identified, highlighting any issues encountered
  • Engages in regular and periodic reviews with supervisor
  • Provides suggestions and engages with team and functional improvement plans
  • Actively contributes to Technology and Product communities of practice, helping enhance processes, tooling and skill sets across the organisation.
