The client is a renowned energy corporation headquartered in Singapore. With the dynamic shifts in the industry, they have broadened their product portfolio and increased their delivery channels. It’s an exciting time coupled with new initiatives that the company is going to roll out, and they are hiring a Strategy Lead who will also be part of the CEO office driving strategic initiatives and confidential projects.

Job Description

Reporting to the CEO directly, the Strategy Lead will also be interfacing with strategic business heads in order to develop and implement both short and long-term strategies for the sustained growth of the business. You will also be up to the challenge of the following:

  • Align with corporate strategy – Develop functional strategies as part of the strategic planning process and monitor the implementation
  • Strategic improvement of overall business – Challenge different business units or functions on their strategic plan, ensuring robustness of their strategies
  • Project management – Assess strategic partners and rate the partnership arrangements, including the management of consultants and project managers for strategic studies or projects
  • Market and business insights – Be proactive by keeping the knowledge about the industry up-to-date, analysing market trends and competition, and providing recommendations to senior management for any decision making they require
  • Strategic initiatives and projects – Drive activities or initiatives of strategic nature closely with stakeholders across functions
  • Develop tools and models – For the execution of strategic initiatives, direct support should be given to the functional leaders which includes tools/models to facilitate analysis and decision making

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Business Management, preferably with post-grade qualifications like an MBA, MSc, or equivalent
  • 5 years’ or more leadership experience in a strategy function, preferably within and oil and gas or energy environment
  • Track record in handling major projects and background in private equity investment
  • Solid awareness of both local and global market changes, with the ability to sniff out opportunities and capitalise on the strengths that the business brings
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective communication to senior stakeholders, colleagues and others
  • Effective project management and consulting skills
