What is Skills Ignition SG?

Avado is a professional academy that helps people and businesses through interactive learning experiences in marketing, data, people and digital transformation. Skills Ignition SG is a training initiative created by Skillsfuture SG, Workforce Singapore, Google and Avado in support of the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme.

This training programme will equip eligible retrenched or unemployed Singapore Citizens and PRs with the relevant Digital Marketing skills that are needed to be job-ready in the information and communications sector. The curriculum includes a mix of online live instructor-led training, self-paced online study and online group and individual project work. Google Digital Garage, Skillshop and Analytics Academy are also included in the programme along with soft-skills classes designed to prepare learners for the job market and to immediately add value to employers. Participants who complete the course will receive professional certificates that are recognised globally.

Learning plan

Programme 1: Vocational training

You’ll go through 6 months of vocational training in Digital Marketing, and you’ll receive a monthly training allowance of S$1,500. Training costs $500, payable in SkillsFuture Credit.



Who is eligible for this programme?

Skills Ignition SG is open to Singapore Citizens and PRs who are currently not employed. For other residency statuses, please refer to Google’s Grow with Google courses.

Programme 1 is available to all graduates with at least two years of work experience. To qualify for the programme, you must have graduated in the calendar year 2018 or before from ITE, polytechnics, universities, or other educational institutions. Please note that this programme is not for those who have just finished serving National Service (NS) in calendar year 2020 or 2021 and are entering the labour force for the first time.

You will need a Bachelor’s degree; or a minimum of three years of work experience in marketing or a related digital field; or a polytechnic diploma and a minimum of one year of work experience in marketing or a related digital field.
