What does a Level 5 CIPD Learning & Development course include?

CIPD Level 5 certification is comparable to degree study, granting you the best Learning and Development knowledge without the need for university debt. AVADO offer three options, allowing you to cater your CIPD Learning & Development training to your specific requirements:

CIPD Level 5 Award in L&D

This CIPD Learning & Development course is tailored towards those who are already working in the industry and want to learn or update a specific skill. To complete the award, you’ll be required to choose one of three modules. These come from the Certificate and Diploma programmes, allowing you advanced study without the need to undertake a long programme. Usually taking around 8 weeks to complete, these are perfect for filling any Learning and Development skill gaps you may have. Choose from:

  • Designing and Developing Digital and Blended Learning Solutions
  • Enhancing Participant Engagement in the Learning Process
  • Using Information Metrics and Developing Business Cases for Learning and Development

CIPD Level 5 Certificate in L&D

The CIPD Level 5 Certificate in Learning and Development is typically completed within 12 months. This is based on you completing the course around current work or lifestyle demands. You will be expected to complete five units, each requiring an end of unit assessment. The units you will be required to study are:

  1. Developing professional practice in L&D
  2. Understanding the context of L&D
  3. Using information, metrics and developing business cases for L&D
  4. Evaluating L&D in a knowledge economy
  5. Designing and developing digital and blended learning solutions

CIPD Level 5 Diploma in L&D

The CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in L&D takes around 14 months to complete. It is an extension to the certificate programme, so if you have already completed this you will be able to simply "top-up" your qualification with the extra units. The Diploma adds on to the knowledge of the certificate by offering you the choice of two pathways:

CIPD Manager Pathway Units:
  1. Developing leadership and management skills
  2. Managing the L&D business function
CIPD Professional Pathway Units:
  1. Enhancing participant engagement in the learning process
  2. Facilitating collective and social learning
