What is the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning & Development?

The CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development is the most comprehensive course available for L&D professionals, ideal for you if you want to formalise your existing experience, skills and knowledge. CIPD Level 5 Learning and Development qualification

With a CIPD qualification, you’ll have the ability to demonstrate your skills in L&D to employers which can help you stand out among other applicants.

As well, a learning and development qualification could help you earn more money. When you are CIPD Level 3 qualified, for example, and working as an assistant, you could earn £10,000 more than someone without that certificate.

With a higher-level qualification and a role as an L&D manager or director, that salary could be upwards of £60,000.

CIPD Level 5 for L&D

There are two kinds of Level 5 Associate Diplomas. This one is focused specifically on L&D and has different option units that help it stay focused on L&D. As well, you'll cover topics like diversity and inclusion, wellbeing and global people management.

This course takes approximately 11 months to complete.

A CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development is very similar to a foundation degree.

This is a course for experienced L&D professionals, so you will need previous formal qualifications to get started. 

  • An existing Foundation qualification (or equivalent) is essential; alternatively, relevant work experience can be considered
  • You must be over the age of 18 or have a third-party payee for any financial agreement
  • You must have a solid grasp of the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent if English is not your first language)
  • You must have access to a computer or other internet enabled device and a reliable internet connection, plus basic computer skills
  • To receive the Diploma qualification, you need to be registered with the CIPD
