This position is an entry level role, requiring little to no previous experience. The role is for a period of 18 months during which time the individual will complete a Data Analyst apprenticeship. Focus is on learning fundamental tasks of information delivery and becoming familiar with more complex core tasks performed by more senior members of the team such as data integration.

What will you do?

Through our Data Analyst apprenticeship programme, you will learn how to transform data into actionable business insights within a leading global insurance company. Your learning will be a hybrid approach of online modules supported by a coach and on the job learning supported by your manager. Your role will involve:

• Applying data derivations, business transformation rules, and data requirements
• Assist with data acquisition following well defined criteria and steps
• Begin to develop basic business knowledge and terminology through daily work assignments
• Assist in the execution of unit and integration testing; complete system testing as directed. (Completed with specific guidance on tasks to be completed and how to complete tasks)
• Validate results of the test with others
• Developing knowledge of Business Intelligence products and tools
• Learn how to develop automate, compile, and prepare reports, dashboards, cubes, etc. a) Collection of data b) Integration of that data c) Development (prototyping and offshored production build)
• Support the creation of specification documents suitable for offshore development to build production ready business intelligence reports and selfservice tools
• Learn how to perform solution design functions
• Learn how to complete root cause analysis
• Participate in the development of project plans and carries out assigned tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned

Approximately 20% of your time will be spent on ‘off the job’ learning with the apprenticeship provider and your learning and development coach.

What will our ideal candidate have?

• Experience and proficiency working with SQL and Relational Databases
• Experience and proficiency working with analytic tools/models preferred
• Emerging knowledge of Information Delivery concepts
• Emerging Knowledge: Beginning to understand basic principles and terminology; not yet solving simple problems independently

What is a must have?

• Relevant Degree in a subject such as Mathematics, Science or Engineering
• Experience and proficiency working with programming language(s)
• Experience and proficiency working with Microsoft Word and Excel

• Apprenticeship Qualification: You will be enrolled on to a Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship. This is an 18 month programme where in addition to on the job
learning, you will also attend virtual classes, supported by a coach, as well as your line manager

If you decide to contribute an additional amount from your salary, you will receive an increased company contribution up to a maximum of 3%. This would bring the total company contribution to 12%
